  1. It is AMAZING. Super charming, old time, character filled home and gardens to die for. Wayne and Danny are artists and it shows in the amazing things they have done to their place. The colors, the woodwork, the special linens, the antiques….we can’t wait to go back. . . .”
    Cindy S.

  2. The minute you step through the painted wooden gate at LoneSomeVille, you feel like you have stepped into another world. The enormous gardens are just lovely, the house is beautifully restored, and relaxing on the wraparound porch listening to birds and bees hum by makes you feel like you could be living in a different century. . . . We were sad to leave LoneSomeVille, and are already planning to return – we intend it to become an annual trip (it is so relaxing there, it’s like planning a retreat!)

  3. Fresh flowers throughout the house brought the beauty of the surrounding gardens inside. Spending time on the porch or around the firepit made the experience feel like home. We would not change a thing!

  4. There is a timeless charm to the property, enhanced by historic architectural details, a vintage book collection, artists pottery and luxuriant gardens. The overall effect is slightly hypnotic and relaxing–for me, reminiscent of a less rushed existence. Though all the necessary modern amenities are available at Lonesome, it is easy to unplug and enjoy the peaceful beauty here. We will be back for more!

  5. I’ve traveled the world and this urban garden oasis has been one of the most memorable and enjoyable. . . Lonesomeville is both a destination and the place to stay even if you only have a weekend to see the city of Portland.

  6. Most amazing place in Portland. Lonesomeville is the only place to stay if you are going to Portland.

  7. We spent 3 nights at LoneSomeVille and cannot say enough nice things about our stay. The accommodations are absolutely beautiful

  8. We stayed for a weekend just my husband, myself and our 2.5yo son. The space is absolutely brimming with charm, every single nook and cranny is artfully tended to and hand crafted. I knew from the photos that this was a lovely place but we had no idea…everywhere you look there are whimsical, artistic touches. I’ve never stayed in a space as lovingly and creatively curated as this home. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the entire property a peaceful sanctuary. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others it is truly one of a kind and special!

  9. Our stay at Lonesomeville was wonderful. The farmhouse and gardens are beautiful, warm and welcoming. Our owners could not have been more courteous, gracious and friendly. Lonesomeville is definitely a must to make a vacation perfect.

  10. A Singular Piece of Immersive Art
Staying at Lonesomeville is participating in a grand artistic vision rendered to completion. No matter where you find yourself, in the house or on the grounds, intentional design has been applied to every single detail. And we’re talking great design! Ceramics, painting, woodwork, horticulture, antique book curation – everything down to the in-house made flatware will submerge you in an utterly unique micro-reality.
Being in the upstairs sleeping quarters is like going back in time. The space is filled with choice books evoking the turn of the 20th century when the house was built. Reading in the little library by the hand-cast fire place is worth the trip alone.
The downstairs kitchen spaces are a great place to spend your morning watching birds, eating, drinking coffee, and lazing around. The longer you stay the more magnetic the bubble vibe becomes. Leaving for the day, especially on a nice day, may be hard.
The hosts are charismatic, talented and exactingly perceptive – ensuring you will be charmed by the whole experience.
You will walk away richer in life from interacting with this place.

  11. It would be hard to choose one word to describe this home. I cannot even use the word rental as it was so much more! We were simply looking for a place to house family to give my daughter some respite from a house full of guests after the birth of her first child. We were so fortunate to find this oasis. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the comforts of home. The beds were comfortable, the neighborhood quiet and the atmosphere warm and friendly. We woke every morning to discover something new and beautiful in the house or in the garden. We spent several evenings on the porch listening to birds sing and the wind whisper through the trees. Even my children, in their twenties, said they felt like they were in a different decade- so peaceful and relaxing- sitting on the porch talking and telling stories-no cell phones!
Our hosts were especially gracious supplying us with coffee, bagel and pastries so we could head out to enjoy our day. They also encouraged us to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evenings if we so desired! And the kitchen was fully stocked with whatever we needed.
    One word- Perfect!
Thank you for sharing your home with us!
