About Lonesomeville

Lonesomeville is an artist studio specializing in decorative clay arts, textiles, garden design, interior design, and original works of art. Our studio was created around the original Blampede farmstead of the Woodstock neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. Built in the late 19th century, the original farmhouse, outbuildings, and barn of the Blampede Farm are the heart of Lonesomeville.

The house and acre grounds were condemned and slated for demolition and redevelopment when we found her 30 years ago. Even in that sad condition, it was love at first sight and we felt she deserved better. We have spent the ensuing 30 years carefully creating this world around her. We believe now, as we did then, that this place is our muse. She sings to all of us every day.

Our Story

We are more than just a simple art studio

This is also a place to stay. We are thrilled to share Lonesomeville with you. The Inn features a two-bedroom suite in the farmhouse, with a private entrance, sunporch living room, and mezzanine library with a gas fireplace. All woodworking and artwork were designed and created by Lonesomeville Studio.

“ There is a timeless charm to the property, enhanced by historic architectural details, a vintage book collection, artists pottery, and luxuriant gardens. The overall effect is slightly hypnotic and relaxing – for me, reminiscent of a less rushed existence.  Though all the necessary modern amenities are available at Lonesome, it is easy to unplug and enjoy the peaceful beauty here. We will be back for more! “

—Wendy K.

“ Fresh flowers throughout the house brought the beauty of the surrounding gardens inside. Spending time on the porch or around the firepit made the experience feel like home. We would not change a thing! “

—Jessica W.

“ The minute you step through the painted wooden gate at Lonesomeville, you feel like you have stepped into another world. The enormous gardens are just lovely, the house is beautifully restored, and relaxing on the wraparound porch listening to birds and bees hum by makes you feel like you could be living in a different century.  We were sad to leave Lonesomeville, and are already planning to return -– we intend it to become an annual trip (it is so relaxing there!) “

—Nancy F.

“ It is AMAZING! Super charming, old-time, character-filled home and gardens to die for. Wayne and Danny are artists and it shows in the amazing things they have done to their place. The colors, the woodwork, the special linens, the antiques....we can't wait to go back.“

—Cindy S.
